Went over to Shipwreck beach on Lanai this past weekend with the family and some friends. Turns out, this World War II Liberty Ship was intentionally placed on the reef as an economical means of disposal. Made of concrete, the ship was one of 22 ferrous-concrete oilers built between 1942 and 1944. There is a rope that leads to the top where some have gone up and jumped off. That will have to be attempted next trip.
